Venice addresses don’t have the street name but the name of one of the six Sestieri: San Marco, Castello, Cannaregio, San Polo, Santa Croce, Dorsoduro. Each Sestiere has his own numbering: from 1 to over 6000!
So each Venice address is formed by a Sestiere name plus a number – usually of four digits – for ex. San Marco, 2648.
And the numbers are not consecutive! This means that find a place can be really hard with just the address if you don’t know the area.
So if you don’t want to get lost (or have heavy suitcases) ask for some more information, not just the address.
Also Google maps has many mistakes!
