Traffic on the Grand Canal
20 November, 2007
The Venice authorities are worried by the growing boats traffic. There have been many crashes in the canals and it seems that it could worsen. The Grand Canal is the most important street of Venice and everyday thousands of boats use it: vaporetti, gondole, transport boats…
Now, to check the situation, the Venice administration has installed a new electronic surveillance system, it’s called Argos (as the hundred eyes dog of the myth) Automatic & Remote Grand canal Observation System and it will control every boat on the Grand Canal.
