Because we belong to one place, we can love the rest of the world.
I find this very funny, for at least two reasons:
– The passenger is a stick-figure, while the gondoliers properly drawn, fully-formed figures. Tourists, eh?
– Also, the sign makes it look as if the passenger is supposed to throw his change (extremely large gold coins – perhaps old krugerands?) boldly through the air across to the gondolier while at the same time stepping down into the traghetto, as the sky turns green in the background.
I think that whoever concocts these signs has a very well-developed sense of humour.
They have no previous signs to copy, but surely this first outcome is quite funny.
