Amerigo Vespucci

13 October, 2008

This wonderful flagship is the school ship Amerigo Vespucci and it’s now moored in front of the Arsenale, close to Saint Mark.
It  has been launched in 1931 and it is the oldest Italian military ship.

Wow – that’s HUGE, and very beautiful! I just love getting these little tidbits of life in Venice, that you post on your blog. My husband and I will be visiting Venice in April next year and so it is very exciting to get these glimpses as little teasers.

  2. How long will she be in port?
Is this just a quick stop?
I will be in Venice within a few days…..just wondering if I’ll have a chance to see her.
    Thanks,
    Bailey

  3. Venice offers so many things, it’s a pity that many tourists visit it in few hours and believe to know it.
The Amerigo Vespucci really worth the walk from Saint Mark Square to it (about 15 minutes).
    From the news:
The Amerigo Vespucci will be in Venice until the 20th of October, it’s open to the public from 10:30 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 19:00 (the 16th of october only 16:30-19:00)
