A new restaurant owned by the Venetian Church
27 January, 2009
This is a very interesting news for tourists and visitors.
The 30th of January is scheduled the opening of a new restaurant behind Saint Mark’s Plaza (Santa Apollonia). But it is not a normal restaurant, this is owned by the Venice Curia and wanted by the Venice Patriarch himself.
As a matter of fact Venice is not only an historic and cultural destination but also an important religious destination, and the aim of this restaurant is to be a cheap refreshment for all the pilgrims that visit Venice every year.
But it will be open for all tourists. The menu price will be around 15/20 euro, very cheap for San Marco area! (dinner will be only by reservation).
I read from the newspaper that some local restaurants are already complaining against this new competitor…
Surely this is something new in the Venice offer.
Here the restaurant entrance.
